Dr. Lata Satyen is a Lecturer in Psychology at Deakin University and a registered psychologist. She has been teaching psychology for the last 15 years and conducting research in the area of migrant wellbeing and family violence. Her research examines the prevalence of family violence across migrant and non-migrant groups, migrant employees’ wellbeing and Australians’ attitudes towards refugees. She has presented her research in various arenas and has published her findings.
Lata also works as a pro bono psychologist and is involved in community work in the area of family violence at various levels. In this role, Lata assists victims in critical and non-critical situations. She is involved with the entire gamut of agencies involved in victim and child protection.
